Preston North End v Man City 1965. Me mam took me (I was born and bred in Preston till I was 8). Me old fella got a job in Walton Jail teaching the prisoners wood machinery, so we moved to the Big City.
First Everton match was 18th August, a Tuesday night v Burnley, 1-1, Johnny Morrisey scored.
Addicted ever since.

Someone at home in January/February 1990. Think it was Sheff Wed. I was about 2 months old...Don't remember a thing obviously. The first game I trully vividly remember was the cup semi final in 1995, though I remember a few moments from Liverpool at Goodison in 1994, Big Joe's first game in charge cos I cried when Duncan scored that header because the noise was so loud, and I remember being thrown around at that Wimbledon game after the final whistle too.

Snap.

March 1973 Everton vs. Chelsea at Goodison. 1-0 win, but I missed the goal due to the Pork Pie incident. Back then kids, there were no screens to see the replay of the goal! DOH!

Saw them again when they toured Oz in the mid 80's, but will only see them play live for the third time on July 14th!

Sometime in the 60s I guess - too young to remember all the heroes of that day but my Dad took me many times. The first game I have any clear recollection of going to was away to Burnley in 70-71 (2-2 draw) - Dobbo played (and scored) for them. Nevertheless I've been going for 40 years now. Got a long way to go to catch the old man. He was taken to games in London (where he was at the time, he's born on Everton Brow - how good is that?) to see Dixie and Tommy Lawton play - we still go occasionally, Father (now 80 years old) , me and son...

Luckily for me I missed most of 1992-2003 being 300 miles away - rationed to one visit per season for a decade when returning to see the family.

my first game was 19th October 1968 Everton vs Stoke City, we won 2-1. I was mesmorised with the huge stand in Goodison Road and i've never seen grass as green in all my life. will take them memories to my grave

That's a bit spooky. I think that was my first game as well. The next one was home to Sunderland. I thought everyone we played had to wear red and white stripes.

The first match I went to but dont remember very much about cos I was just a kid was the 1966 Charity Shield at Goodison. Liverpool beat us 0-1. All I remember about that match was the World Cup being Paraded around the ground by Ray Wilson and Roger Hunt and I rmember little else except there was thousands of people there. The first league match I went to which I do recall was 1971 at home to Sheffield United. I was 11 then and we got beat in that one aswell.

14th march 1994 at anfield lost 1-2 but at least had the joyous 90 seconds after watson scored before fowler the pox equalised. I was still dancing on the side of the pitch when they equalised.

Boxing day 1986 away at Newcastle. 4-0 win.

I went to nearly every game that season but missed the Newcastle game away ,i went to Australia for the Christmas.Called up Newcastle[when i got home} and asked them if they sold video's of their home games.Still got the game on tape.Howard said we would never play better and i think he was right.

First game 58 against Man U,dark sat afternoon ,walked the step's up to the boy's pen as an eight year old, floodlight's were full on,wow, just stood in shock at how green the pitch was.when the pen got filled up some men pulled the bar's on the pen so i could get into Gwladys st, got passed over the crowed to sit at the front.Bobby Collin's was the man.

Can I just say what a joy and an honour it is to read this thread. I may not pass comment on all or indeed any of the posts but I love every last memory posted here. It is our own oral history.
