Everton 2 West Ham 1

I was only little at the time. Only realise now how lucky I was to have actually seen the likes of Neville Southall, Gary Speed, Duncan Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard play that day

Also got to see a rare Danny Williamson start

This one was my third game.

My first was West Ham the year before, again 2-1. My Dad was a West Ham fan, so him and my Mum went in the away end and I was in the main stand with my mate.

A Sunderland defeat was sandwiched in between.

August '62 an evening match against United me sitting in the old Main Stand. 69, 500 in the ground. 3 - 1 win with the Vision scoring 2. Dennis Law and Nobby Stiles played for them.

Won the title that season.

The Umbro cup game vs Ajax was my first game. Gary speed scored the only goal.

My first ever game was 1879 and if memory serves me right we played St Peters and stuffed them 6-0. Can't remember the scorers though as my memory is a little hazy these days.

Wednesday March 20, 1985. Fortuna Sittard v Everton. Came back from that match, a fully confessed Evertonian. Almost 40 years of suffering now.

First Official game without a "turn-style lift" : 1st November 1975 v Leicester 1-1 Dave Smallman for us, was cold as hell that day, was a gift for my upcoming 10th Birthday but......

.............Was at Wembley in 1968 v West Brom as a Babe In Arms, dont remember much but Jeff Astle! My old fella still moans about it to this day, apparently he says we were nailed on winners! This was when FA cup Day was a proper occasion, families, Pullman Express, etc etc! Should have known at this point shouldn't I lol!!

Came back the following Saturday and we beat Saints 8-0 in the famous game when rhe scoreboard down the Park End couldn’t cope with the amount of goals being scored

And if that didn’t hook a young fellow then nowt would.

But it never prepared me for the following 53 years of mostly hurt
