Looks like I'll join the growing list of Americans to be on this forum. Just a little intro. I am from Texas, and I've always wanted to get into the Premier League. I'm not just hopping on the bandwagon because it's the World Cup. I've always been a reasonably big fan (at least by American standards; maybe not as much compared to European standards) of the sport. But watching our MLS is just too painful. So I've always been more of an international fan of football. Speaking of which, I will try my hardest to always refer to it as "football" on here and never by the S word. But if I ever slip up, feel free to slap me across the wrist and I will correct myself.
Anyway, like many others before me, if I want to get excited about the Premier League, then I need to pick a team. And I have found that team in Everton. The American connection there is too much to ignore. I wish Landon Donovan (easily my favorite player, and even more so after tonight) would get the hell away from the MLS and re-join the Premier League for good.
I have been to England twice, both within a 6 month span about 12 years ago. One of those trips was a three week voyage through the entire UK as part of a student ambassador program. We did make a stop in Liverpool, and it was there where I experienced my first taste of the atmosphere that goes with the Premier League.
Now, enough with the long intro. I look forward to perusing the forums and I'm eager to welcome the new season.
