Looks like I'll join the growing list of Americans to be on this forum. Just a little intro. I am from Texas, and I've always wanted to get into the Premier League. I'm not just hopping on the bandwagon because it's the World Cup. I've always been a reasonably big fan (at least by American standards; maybe not as much compared to European standards) of the sport. But watching our MLS is just too painful. So I've always been more of an international fan of football. Speaking of which, I will try my hardest to always refer to it as "football" on here and never by the S word. But if I ever slip up, feel free to slap me across the wrist and I will correct myself. :)

Anyway, like many others before me, if I want to get excited about the Premier League, then I need to pick a team. And I have found that team in Everton. The American connection there is too much to ignore. I wish Landon Donovan (easily my favorite player, and even more so after tonight) would get the hell away from the MLS and re-join the Premier League for good.

I have been to England twice, both within a 6 month span about 12 years ago. One of those trips was a three week voyage through the entire UK as part of a student ambassador program. We did make a stop in Liverpool, and it was there where I experienced my first taste of the atmosphere that goes with the Premier League.

Now, enough with the long intro. I look forward to perusing the forums and I'm eager to welcome the new season. :D

Greetings from TX!

Hey TX Chili Dog!
I too am a Texan that supports Everton! Looking to see what is going on here in TX as far as fans. Where in TX are ya? I'm here in the Dallas area. Thinking we might get some events going here in TX or something. At the least maybe get together and watch a game. Anyway, let me know. Have a good one!

Welcome mate. Seems like Everton are geting plenty exposure in The States which is a good thing imo. Youve come to the right place.

First off, welcome to the forum! I had my awakening not too too long ago. I didn't come to European football at the expense of the MLS as one really needs to realize that the MLS is still only like 15 years old. It will take some time and I know patience is not a good thing for most people. I don't think the US will ever get huge into football without it partially being due to an American league. We won't get huge solely on more and more people just watching the sport on early mornings in the fall and winter to go along with a yearly visit to our European team that has selected us such as Everton has with all of us Yanks.

Anyways enough with my rant, Welcome to the Forum! I really have to investigate over at bigsoccer.com and other forums if someone is going to restart up Evertonusa or something similar as there really are enough of us to start up a US Everton Supporters group.

Welcome fellas, we have a few good lads from Texas on here with Bill being the most long standing.

What do you prefer on your pizza, pineapple or Obama?

Personally, I prefer a little Pelosi buttie.

Welcome, TX CD. Although I'm in Chicago now, will always be a Texan at heart. Grew up just north of Dallas. Fine lot of Texans on here - Tx Bill is the Sam Houston of the group.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes!

I am also from Dallas! More specifically I am in Irving (Valley Ranch) for a little bit longer. I'll probably be here until about November before I move back into Dallas city limits to get closer to work. I'll have to research what places show games. I'm sure Beltline in Addison would have some. There are a lot of good places to watch all kinds of games on Beltline. It's where I usually go to catch Cowboys games. And I love my Cowboys. :)

I love Chicago. If I were to ever move out of state, it'd be to Chicago. I'm a sucker for deep dish pizza. lol

I'm planning on making my annual trip up there at the end of the month. Gotta be there for Taste of Chicago of course!

Welcome. I like the way Americans say Barack by the way

Don't forget we've got TX Tiburon on here as well. Another that I haven't seen in awhile is Andriy EFC. Anyone seen him lately?
