2 year loan then.
That would be OK too, Barcelona are not going to blast away 60 million on a defender who's had two good seasons they'll only spend that I'd he's been great and become world class which would mean we've gotten a world class player for two seasons and doubled our money.

2-year loan is the worst shout ever lol last time I checked, when you loan something to somebody you don’t have to pay them to get it back, never mind twice the value of the initial loan.

Not sure mate, Barca do this thing all the time, even if they didnt want him they wouldd sign him and sell him on in a matter of weeks if there was something in it for them.

2 years is a long time in football, you never know we may even have CL football by then. Maybe Barca will be struggling financially and unable to trigger the clause. Maybe Mina will have an injury so they won't want to. Maybe they have 2 world class defenders already playing well and don't need another or Mina doesn't want to go there knowing he won't get first team football?

I really don't see this buy back clause as being as bad as some think it is. Just the media finding something to dig at Everton for because unUnited didn't get him.

Ultimately its cost neutral over a two year period after wages, we will make a small profit id imagine for our trouble bu in a single digit millions. Like i said i am happy he is here but i dont like the deal.

50 odd million, we will make a pretty small profit after wages. Its cost neutral for a couple of years, i dont like the deal but am happy he is here.
Wages goes with the territory Neil ....we could have signed Robert Huth and still would have had to pay him.
But if he is very good for us we double what we paid for him.

hmmm, spending money doesn't make a good side. Spanish sides have constantly shown themselves to be stronger in Europe and they have far more than 4 good sides!
Look at Valencia..they finished fourth and I thought we outplayed them and looked much better on the ball (despite the loss). Massive reach to say more than two sides have proven stronger in Europe. A Chelsea side that was the weakest its been in years outplayed Atletico.

I think it’s just foreign football really. Stick most European leagues on and it looks more aesthetically pleasing than most teams in the PL. Most jarg teams in the EL will look nicer it’s just how their players are brought up really.

Less noticeable now with both the amount of foreigners in the PL and also the change in now academies teach the kids.

The technical quality in La Liga is miles better than the EPL
Barca and madrid, yes. We looked much better on the ball than fourth place finishers Valencia. Their only chances came on terrible individual errors. We picked apart their defense with smart passing and good skill. You are massively overrating their league. They looked a very average side.
