I`m hoping against hope that due to Keane still being young, that someone will want him.

Judging him on the friendlies, he looks to have got even worse, which is some feat.

The fact that Silva has said he wants two centre backs in before the season starts, speaks volumes.

But, as you say, it`s gonna be hard to bring in two centre backs, especially as we`re struggling to get one in !!!!!

We should be able to sell him on no bother to some newly promoted team looking some experience.

He definitely has the air of a player who may be rehabilitated elsewhere. Well that’s what his new manager will think anyway.

Read a small piece on him in the echo saying that Barca chiefs see him as unreliable and Thomas Vermaelen was always preferred to this lad.

Do we really want to blow £30m on this lad, do we really ?

30m isnt big money and its about a third of what Lacselles would cost sadly.

That's not fair - I remember that game. The whole team was diabolical on the day. Mina didn't stand out as responsible for it. So much so that I don't remember him in the game; I just remember Barca being rubbish.

That said, he is a risk as he's totally unproven. It'd be a panic buy for United, and in many ways one for us - difference is it's a bit more of an educated risk for us as there's no possible way he can be worse than Ashley Williams.

He's not coming here though, so it's a moot point.

Got a feeling its the latter tbh and I doubt we'll go back in for him as we never did with Tierney and looked elswhere.

Regardless of us getting Digne and likely Rojo we look to have possibly missed out on 2x top quality young defenders in Mina & Tierney. I just hope us not willing to pay that extra couple of million doesnt come back to haunt us if both develop into beasts of players @Mikey_Fitzgerald

Im not sure Tierney can be seen as top quality. He's got top potential at best but is a relatively unknown quantity until he is tested in an elite league. Van Dijk did just that but there are plenty who don't succeed like Jelavic.
I'm happy with a LB that's played for Barcelona, Roma and France, personally.
