I have to ask, reading these threads alot of people have got a bit over excited about a guy who's played a handful of games scored a couple of goals and now apparently is the answer to all our prayers. For what reason does everyone believe that Mina is the only answer out there? And how many players come off the back of world cups and do nothing? Let Utd have him they'll be selling him in a year's time how half the price I'll put money on it! Any guesses where he will end up?

Wasn't that bothered about getting Mina based on a couple of decent World Cup appearances and his apparent holding out for better offers...

@jazzy I agree, Yerry is atypical for a central defender at Barcelona but I like Mina, love his enthusiasm & intangibles - basically provides qualities that majority of central defenders lack. As some have commented, he has barely played in matches but apparently has not gained the trust of Valverde - a coach I am not a fan of, tbh. Most critics point to the mistakes he made against Levante that saw Barcelona lose but I think it's never easy to come in midseason and adapt as a central defender at Barcelona. And I don't agree about his technical abilities, I think he is great on the ball - I question more his intelligence as a defender in our system since he has gotten caught out routinely. This might be down to adaptation or simply lack of focus, confidence etc. More time? I wouldn't be opposed to him remaining, even over Vermaelen but Valverde does not appear to share this outlook

Personally, I think he loses focus at times but he looks far more assured for Colombia so perhaps this is more a question of confidence & having time to adapt

Laporte was never going to happen as Barcelona have historical difficulties signing Athletic players. Plus, I am very happy with Umtiti & Lenglet

Incidentally, local reporter now saying United have not made an approach to Barca for Mina

If not - our centre half pairings for me would be Keane and Holgate. Williams has to go, and Jags would be a decent back-up but maybe Keane can recapture the form that earned him an England call-up??!! Granted that’s a big maybe and a very optimistic view!!!

Well they say it was Ben Mee that made Keane look good at Burnley.

you'd hope not like but the fact we still haven't signed another CB is alarming
