It is a team game. I think we focus on individuals too much.
Sometimes the team performance is a 5/10 , then it is hard for individuals to play well, this is even more true for forward players who depend on supply and support from further back.

We all know the team is a work in progress, let's not get too excited after a win or too depressed when we lose.
The manager is still very much in a learning mode.

Isn't this exactly what people were discussing when he was signed? He's always been inconsistent. His crossing is hit and miss. I'm not surprised.

No problem with him having a shocker when the whole team has one, be different if everyone played well and he alone let the side down. Friday is a big game for him against his old side.

Thats what he's done his whole career. He's 27 now so he wont change it. Although he puts is some good crossesp i really don't like this player. We need a mahrez type of winger with vision and creativity, not a headless chicken. Cant believe we payed 25 mil for this guy.

I'd rather have that creative type player in the number 10 role

I know he's a good player and he offers us a good outlet from the wing, but I'm still annoyed we spent so much on this guy.

Just smacks of a lack of imagination from those making the decisions on who we bring in. Thank God Spurs beat us to Sissoko or we'd have been ruing that transfer window for quite a long time to come.

It's not difficult really is it? He's 27/28 years old, his top flight record for scoring goals is atrocious - his assist total not much better, Palace fans were busting a gut to see him off to buy a replacement..you just steer clear of players like that unless they're knocking about for about £4m and you're looking to get a back up in who isn't horrendous.

I honestly don't know what's gone on there throwing £25m at him. It's not his fault like. He might do a bit better here than elsewhere, who knows. But that seemed at the time a poor bit of business and I've seen nothing so far to counter that.

....it's probably a bit too early to judge, he has looked decent at times. One thing I will say is that £25m is getting on for average, especially for forward players.

2 assists in 5 games.

could/should easily have been 5 in 5.

He was bad yesterday - as the entire team were. It happens. If he was 100% consistent he'd be at a CL club.

It is too early to judge him here at Everton. I agree with that. Hopefully he turns in some fine performances and is a success. My point is that his career record is pretty dire and that should have guided Everton in terms of a) whether he was good enough and b ) his enormous valuation (and it IS enormous for a winger even these days).

Should/could isn't was/is.

That might be harsh, but then again they are the stats by which other players are judged - who no doubt have their own near miss stories to tell.
