Didn't exactly help Thelwell demanding £35m for a striker with 15 goals to his name in the last 3 seasons combined, with only a year left on his deal. Irrespective of personal terms, no way would Newcastle have paid that amount for player with those factors.

Regardless of whether we got him or not, he was always going to be a really expensive risk. One Brighton are much better positioned to take.
Deep down I feel like if he was going to be incredible then Liverpool would be in for him. Their manager just had a full season of working with him.
I’d have liked him but it’s not one I’m devastated on missing out on (at least not yet)

Seems an little outside they’re usual MO spending that sort of money on a relatively unproven youngster.
That he was only bought 12m ago for £5m, looks a bit like a banana skin for Brighton imho.
