Wright Phillips, would anyone consider him?

Royal Blue Jersey

Player Valuation: £35m
I imagine as the "Blue Revolution" (I shudder at the name) continues at City, can only see the once ultra-promising Wright-Phillips being shipped off once again, and although he definitely seems to have lost a good degree of form over the last few years I still think he's a talented player who would do well here under Moyes.

Height and wage issues aside, of course. I know it's a bit of a stab in the dark but might be the kind of player we could nab, opinions?

No way, not by a long shot. Failed for Chelsea and City mk II, awful for England. A player punching above his weight in terms of reputation, wages, and media blow jobs, that is actually a distinct step down for us.
Rather take Kancho now at 40+.

He ticks a couple of boxes, namely pace and a good work ethic.
However, he runs into blind alleys, cannot cross and is a poor finisher.
Plus, how would he cope with a supposed "drop down", as is how he would surely view it?

Aaron Lennon isn't getting a lot of game time at the moment, and although has similar issues to SWP, I rate him higher, and he is still developing his game.

In any event, neither will be necessary once Landycakes arrives!

Yeeharrr!

No, he could one day flick a switch in his head and become a footballer again, but at present he's for me one of those paycheck chasing players, happy to sit on a bench and get well paid rather than take a pay cut and play week in week out at someone mid to low table. How many of us would play for free? pee's me off that players would rather sit on a bench than try to be a footballer.

P.s. Osman is much better and should've been an England regular years ago, just doesn't suck up to the London centric sports media

I think Moyes went for him before didn't he? Twice if I remember correctly?
Not too sure as well tbh if we would improve us that much, it would be good to have another English player in our squad though.. But not him

He's alot better than Osman is on the right, and his pace and energy would give us a bit of balance down the right handside. We all know about his weaknesses, he's never going to be a top player, but I see no reason why he couldn't offer us something similar to what Donovan did last season.
