Naismith is 50 times the player Welbeck could ever dream to be.

Why wasn't this thread opened up again when he missed an absolute sitter from 5 yards on Saturday? He was lucky Oxlade-Chamberlain was there.

Depends on whether they need him to be able to rely on an element of ball control. If they roll the ball in front of him to run onto then he would do ok. If they hit it at him and expect give and go football then not much at all really.

I watched Welbeck closely last night - his perfromance was excellent, he dropped deep and played one touch football, laid it off, and got in the box. He ran at defenders with the ball at his feet and beat them hands down with pace. His goals were taken very well indeed.

It wasn't a performance for the haters, as it actually showed just what Danny Welbeck is capable of. Not that it matters, they will find a reason to dismiss it.

£16m for Welbeck + £12m to spend on other players VS £28m for Lukaku.

Make me laugh all the media "scouts" - unable to make their own mind up of a player. I reckon you always rated Naismith didn't you?

Here's a prediction - Welbeck will score 15-20 goals. But hey he's rubbish cos a load of prawn butty eaters who watched him play on the flank said so.

It's a principled stance mate, I will give you that. But Naismith isn't 50 times any player I can think of. Welbeck is a good player who will get better and I'm pleased for him because he got a lot of stick from the mancs. But equally piggy backing on the fact he got a hattrick last night to make a point is a bit daft.....so I won't.
