Would you sign Welbeck? (rumoured to be wanting out of OT)

Given a run as a main striker he'd do well. Looked very good 3 seasons ago for Sunderland and then hasn't been able to force his way in as the main man for Utd - no shame in that though

I think he's pretty rank average tbh and would be very surprised if Martinez went in for him. I think a front man needs to have a certain desire to WANT to get on the score sheet and sometimes that means getting into positions where you miss. I don't think he has that killer instinct about him that a top striker needs to have. If we are talking of boss slotters from the mancs then its Hernandez all day long though I ain't too sure if he would fit into our system.

To be fair, he is always played out of position and never the main striker

He plays up top for England though doesn't he? And I'm pretty sure even though he doesn't get played centrally all the time he's still had a few games there for the Mancs. He's behind the likes of Rooney and Van Persie and to a lesser extent Hernandez so its understandable he doesn't get many opportunities playing down the middle.

I think he'd do well here, but the problem with this is...

He probably isn't available.

If he was available it wouldn't be for buttons and I wouldn't be sure about spending £15m+ on him to be honest.

Yes at the right price. Would hope he would shine like Sturbridge has for them lot when given the chance.

But as has been said I don't think he'd come cheap. Would rather pay 15 for him than 25 for lukaku though.

I'd be very surprised for a few reasons, the biggest one is wages. But, I'd have him. I feel like he's a good striker who's been played out of position at United the whole time he's been there. He's a good striker who's been stuck on the wing for years. I think he could do a Sturridge and go off for us. However, I'm also wiling to admit I don't know crap. And, again, wages.

He'd be a great squad player, like Naismith, someone you could rotate in and out your team as I think he has hot and cold patches in him.

But for what he'd cost and our lack of any sort of main striker, I wouldn't expect to see us sign him, we just wouldn't have the £10m + to spend on this type of player that I'd expect Man U to want.

Cleverley or Welbeck, it like deciding if i want to be kicked in the grid or balls.

Haha! Thing is, with those sort of players, you never quite know how they would turn out with a different manager/background. Like they are both obviously really good footballers. You dont get anywhere near the Utd 1st team unless you are, but unlike the really top, top players, (Rooney, Mata, RVP), they need that extra bit of something to bring them on. A bit like Sturridge I guess.
