He seems to have a lot of potential and is one of the most highly thought of young coaches in Germany. Has done a great job with Mainz over the last 3 years or so and in my opinion is exactly the type of coach we need.

Artetafan says Mainz haven't had a good season this year but I beg to differ on that. Up to recently they were in the running for European places (and they could still do it mathematically), and now they're sitting 10th, which is not bad for a team of their resources, especially looking at some of the clubs below them (Wolfsburg, Stuttgart, Bremen etc - all recent CL teams).

He made his name because he took over a newly promoted team, when klopp got the dortmund job, and in his first two seasons took them to 9th then 5th and into europe by league position for the only time in their history.

Since then they've drifted into the lower half of the table. It's not bad for a team which is traditionally a second flight team but I stand by 'not great' .

fair enough, not trying to pick an argument, just think they've been doing pretty well since promotion given their resources.

he didn't take over directly from Klopp, another manager got them promoted back to the top division and then left on the eve of the new season. He was promoted from their youth setup and it's his first ever top flight managerial job. And you could argue he's doing as good a job if not better than Klopp did with them.

no chance, he would never understand why Bill tells his long story of being on Uncle Cyrills handbars when he is asked about the size of the transfer budget.

haha, i wish bill had a sense of humour and actually approached mourinho and klopp. quickly working his way down to our 100th choice martinez.

Bill: hey alex, you fancy a job at everton?

... no, okay mate, thanks anyway
