World Snooker Championship

Tough place the Crucible, but yet another Robertson no-show at the world championship means he'll forever remain in the company of Shaun Murphy in the second tier of greats. To be fair to Shaun, he at least has played three world finals. But the idea that Robertson is somehow in the class of Higgins, Williams, or Selby is a nonsense. On the highest stage, unlike them, he is usually found wanting.

Hawkins going out is not that big a shock - despite his excellent Crucible consistency. I think Vafaei is a very difficult opponent to draw in round 1 and I imagine he'll give Williams a scare in round 2 - but still come up short. Higgins-Williams in the last 8 is very much on.
