Working from home?

Just coming up to 3 years at my current gaff and when I started it was proposed as hybrid will 3 days in the office and the other 2 flexible.
Worked well as my Mrs wfh 2 days and I could do another two so really helped with nursery drop off / pick up etc.
We’ve since been told / encouraged to be in 5 days per week but the messaging is very uneven between teams / dept’s in the same parts of the firm.

Would far far far rather be Hybrid, I used to think I wouldn’t want to be a remote worker 100% but longer I’m at my current gaff the more I’d prefer it.
Got a 80-90m commute each way and it really eats into your family life.

I do 2 days from home and 3 in the office but that's up to me. (Obviously work at home Monday and Friday, I'm not an idiot...)

As someone who lives alone I find the WFH days vital as I can get deliveries and do some housework, chuck a wash on etc. Also very handy if you have an emergency to deal with (plumbers, car problems etc).

I do well more work from home but I have a nerdy job where the peace can help me rather then people disturbing me all the time and then getting narky when I tell them to bugger off as I will mess up what I am doing.

You can do that at work if you wanted mate, then you’ll be working at home permanently.

Win Win?
It's all about context, I suppose mate...

On the set of a porno movie, I guess it would be encouraged... Very much so.
Not so much so in a boardroom of a Fortune 500 company, in front of the board of directors. 🤔

Supremely flexible with my job, but required to "work" 60% of week in office.

But "work" can be, scan badge and spin around (which is pointless if you're spending £6 on the train anyway).

Prefer office working. Too many distractions at home, but i tend to split my days. 7-1, come home have lunch and then can go the gym straight after.

Not sure how I ever worked full time in an office, feels an aliens time ago.
