Dreadful Americanism which should be returned whence it came.

Why use one word when two would do?

"newborn (adj.) also new-born, c. 1300, from new + born. As a noun from 1879." (http://www.etymonline.com )

So, not that newborn as a word - even as a noun, it's only a year younger than Everton!

But, on principle, it is not for me to disagree with you.
