The IRA murdered HUNDREDS of British civilians. I'm not arsed what their 'motive' was as it was just as defunct as using religion or referring to your 'homeland' as the crazy guy in the video did today.

But your point was actions representing an entire culture. The IRA (split from the real IRA around the 70s I think) represented a group of northern Irish wanting independence after being at war with the English for decades, and declared war against the English. They never represented every northern Irish man.

Muslim extremists do their acts for their religion as part of a god given right. In turn causing people to be fearful of people who practice that religion worrying that blinded belief can lead to violence.

I'm not defending either or justifying it. I'm separating the two, and the reason why there is just gonna a different types of bigamy and race/religious hate.

All religious beliefs get on people's goat because it's grounded in falsity and nothing tangible. So commuting crimes in the sake of it is purely incomprehensible nowadays, as it pure belief in it

Not really. Both concern people killing a certain group in the name of an ideology, but only one has been met with attacks on an entire group of people who are unrelated to it.

The IRA killed hundreds of British people on British soil. Muslim extremists have killed dozens of people on British soil. All Muslims are being tarred with the same brush, all Irish people are not.

But the two are not comparable in the slightest.

The IRA set out on a campaign to free their homeland from a foreign invader. The objective was to "free" their own people. In its essence it was defensive/reactive.

The perception amongst many westerners is that militant Islam is not looking to stop at the border once British/American troops leave Iraq/Afghanistan. Militant Islam appears to want to convert/destroy all non-believers and have hard line Islamic governments in power.

The perception therefore is "we" are under attack for not being strict Muslims as opposed to any perception in the IRA years that Brits were under attack because of something that Britain had done. The IRA wanted a free united Ireland NOT an Irish Britain.

I'm not disputing that. But the IRA objectives stopped at the island of Ireland. The objectives of militant Islam have a global reach.
