….i think if you make a statement like that you need to say which youth players are capable of making the step-up and in what positions, accepting that Armstrong wasn’t available.
Mate, you did watch that last night?!

Any of em, absolutely any.

Graham
Dixon
Samuels-smith
Foster
Benjamin
Nsangou

I’m not asking them to play every minute every week, but I’d have them in the squad ahead of the likes of mcshite, Coleman (make him a player coach who never plays now) etc.

I know he's injured at moment honestly hoped we get delap these 2 aren't giving me any hope...pray one of them starts scoring regularly soon
Never in a month of Sundays was Delap coming here. You don't choose Everton if you want to play Champs League, compete for trophies and get a massive pay packet for the next 8 years.

Putrid last night. The gameplan was non existent and we were seemingly happy for Wolves reserves to have the ball while we were not interested in it. While it’s right and fair to give Moyes plaudits since January, it’s equally fair to give him pelters here for making so many needless changes. Why does anybody need a rest at this stage of the season? (Mykolenko I can understand as he’s coming back from injury).
Shameful all round.

Is anyone else made up that we are out of the league cup? Its a cup that's long past its expiration date and one that's completely bias towards teams on Europe. They not only get to start a round later, but also they get favourable fixtures in the next round. Personally I think they should have binned it a long time ago. Also everyone fields their reserves so what prestige is there in winning it? 'Oh look we just won a cup that noone tries in?'

No. We've been irrelevant for decades. I'll take ANY domestic trophy.

Yes mate, I'm far too busy celebrating all the other trophies we have won over the last 35 years, there's no bigger buzz than going out of 1 of the only 2 cups we have a slight chance of winning

The record books will only show who won the competition with no reference to the quality of the teams in it.

As long as it offers another trophy opportunity and a route into Europe it’s worth winning IMHO.

I think Moyes will have peed off a number of senior players who will see this as a lost opportunity to try and win something as they enter the final stages of their career and then see a team like Brighton go on and win it.

I am not “made up” we are out and Moyes messed up big time last night as we had the chance to go to the latter stages of a competition we have never won and maybe even get a bit of luck to get to a final.

Like I mentioned early on in the moyes thread, i expected 2-3 changes, not 7, nice try though Kev

What’s so ‘prudent’ about making seven changes in a cup competition that both the manager and players have talked up as being important? We don't play for another 6 days! The prudent thing to do last night would've been to make 2-3 changes, that's what I thought he would do. We took a poor Wolves side for granted.

Very very poor. Match was lost with the team sheet. Weird how we sent out such a changed team with almost a week off until the next match and playing a team (despite looking far better than them for most of that match) we'd only squeezed past three weeks before by a one goal margin when their main striker wasn't on the pitch.
No excuses with selections from now on, it's got to be the strongest 11 possible out each match with only one cup to play for and hopefully (though it feels further away this morning) a European place within reach.
