For me it's less about McFadden's ability (using that word lightly) and more about his age. He's at the end of his career and really, short of a miracle, he's going to remain the sub-standard player he is. But we do have a lot of younger players who could genuinely be good or even great PL players, and they're getting splinters in their arse whilst 'released from a championship team' Faddy racks up some more minutes.

Fair enough if we were at Old Trafford or something, but we're playing an already-relegated team with oh so little to play for ourselves.

again, this.

just exactly when are we supposed to blood the youngsters that we hope will shine in one of the toughest leagues in the world? a second string reserve game against Rhyll Round Table Under 17s select XI?

He is playing for a contract - not sure where at though. I would have liked to have seen Baxter get a chance to be honest, he has been on loan - done a decent job, played well for the ressies and as he reminds me a little bit of Osman (play-wise) against Wolves would have been perfect.

I was just pointing out that he's not at the end of his career, as amazing as that may be!

Yeah I know, but he's past the point of potential and he's hit the age of -- in normal cases -- your peak years and your decline. This is realistically as good as he'll ever get.

And that should not be good enough for Everton.

That doesn't count because Yak only started playing professionally when he hit 50.

Faddz is out of contract at the start of next season as we only gave him a 12 month deal.

Moylez probably wants to keep him longer. Which is fine considering well sell Rodders and buy in some more 30 year olds to give us some "freshness"

Dont know why anyone is surprised at the inclusion of McFadden over Barkley. Faddy will be gone in summer, is the more experienced of the two, and Moyes seems hellbent on keeping Ross out of the lineup until next season. That said, he'll still probably end up getting some minutes today.
