Advice (for what it's worth) from a man who succeeded in getting in to "Berghain"...(from The Telegraph, Jan. 2014).
I lived in Berlin for some time and have gone to Berghain on numerous occasions, says John O' Ceallaigh. The bouncers don’t hesitate to deny entry – often for no discernable reason - but it will likely work in your favour if you: Speak German Convince the bouncers you’re there to see a specific DJ rather than to gawk at clubbers – knowing your Ben Klocks from your Marcel Dettmanns helps Don’t dress as though you’re on a night out in the West End – Berlin is a casual city and the only people you’ll see in Berghain in heels and fake nails are transvestites

That's what 4 of us are doing, neatly hours drive to East Midlands, in central Berlin for midday and staying near Alexzanderplatz

7:45am flight i'm guessing? We are in the Holiday Inn Express about 10 mins from there and Potzdamer Platz.

Does anyone know where the nightlife/lively bars will be? Heard only good things about the nightlife but have no idea what area it is in

Alexanderplatz is boss! If they have the market festival again you'll have a cracking time around there

Anyone driving to Wolfsburg ? We're leaving Tuesday lunch for euro tunnel then just over 2 hour drive to Antwerp we're we'll stay overnight in Tulip Inn and have a few Belgian beers then onto Hannover probably 3 to 4 hours to our hotel Mercure Mitte there until Friday got the Lower Saxony ticket for trains to game
Me and my mate are driving. Leaving early Wednesday and going through the tunnel, staying on the Dutch/German border overnight. Then over to Wolfsburg to our hotel in Gifhorn. Driving back on Friday, staying in Bruges for some R&R!

For those staying in Hannover, there are 2 good pubs near the main square,
Brauhaus Ernst August, and Jack the rippers pub.
There won't be as many Everton fans concentrated in one area like it was in Lille, as many fans are spending the night in Berlin, hamburg, and Dusseldorf on the way to Wolfsburg.
We're staying 2 nights in Hannover, arriving 2pm wednesday afternoon so will have a walk round the streets off the square looking for other likely pubs.
The local Hannover fans hate Wolfsburg, so they will be hoping to see Everton win.
The trains from Hannover to Wolfsburg are every hour, and the first train back after the match is 22:23 arriving back in Hannover before 11pm - dont worry, plenty of late bars.
Hopefully the police there will be as good as they were in Nuremberg, and not behave the way the French police did !

Never had a problem with the police in Germany

Scuffle last time we played in Wolfsburg which resulted in there two 'firms' fighting against each other. From what i gather they have two one older one younger and they both hate each other.

I really want to go to this as loved the Lille experience, have all the necessary credits to get a match ticket but all the hotels are full except for the Ritz Carlton at £330 a night, so sod that. Going to have to wait and see who we get in the next round instead. Club Bruges would do very nicely.
Stay in Berlin m8, me and my lad are it will be better than stopping in Wolfsberg anyway.COYB!!!

We get there about 11pm on the Wednesday, so keep posting if you find any other pubs. We are about a 10 min walk from the station, so can't be far from the main square.
Can't wait!

I don't have a hotel room booked for the night of the game as my flight back home is 06:00 in the morning so doesn't really make sense! I'll probably drink and somehow find my way back to Hanover and sleep there a little, haha.
