The Fa waffling on,the fact that England are bang average is the reason they dont win tournaments, more injuries in the PL because its a lot more fast and hectic than other leagues and Im sure English clubs were more successful in Europe when they were playing 60 games a season
Also let's not mention that almost all of the Belgium squad play in England and have no issues playing well
Sorry PITA,I believe at the moment theres a gentlemens agreement that there will not be friendly games played during the break, only warm weather training, again, that doesnt make sense as all clubs have indoor training facilities to combat any adverse weather,I see it as a slow path to a reduction in the number of PL teams,as the end of the season becomes congested, theres no sure way of knowing bad weather wont hit in feburary or MarchCan you two please stop talking sense. It won't do.
Precisely.Sorry PITA,I believe at the moment theres a gentlemens agreement that there will not be friendly games played during the break, only warm weather training, again, that doesnt make sense as all clubs have indoor training facilities to combat any adverse weather,I see it as a slow path to a reduction in the number of PL teams,as the end of the season becomes congested, theres no sure way of knowing bad weather wont hit in feburary or March
I've asked nicely. I think the problem is less the need for a break, more the ridiculous number of matches crammed into a short space of time.
Arguably this break doesn't necessarily stop that
I love those matches crammed into a two week spell over the festive season.
Everton playing every three ir four days.
What’s not to like?
Most of the teams that have a winter break have never won a tournament. Make of that what you willAll leagues but ours have some kind of winter break. Make of that what you will
So, Everton won't be playing any football from the end of next Jan until the end of February....So if your team is knocked out the Cup in the 3rd. Round, like us this past two seasons, you face a month without football from the end of January until the end of February.
Marvellous.
So, Everton won't be playing any football from the end of next Jan until the end of February....
I believe so, yes. I'm only hoping that the prospect of a nice long winter break doesn't influence our lion-hearted lads into downing tools in the FA Cup 3rd round. The penultimate weekend in Jan thru the penultimate weeken in Feb if we go out the Cup at the first fence.
Is it starting this coming season?
