If the Barrios in and Gana out links are true then Silva has much bigger stones than I thought.

Seems a very risky one to me. I suppose it might make good business sense to sell a 29 year old(?) and replace him with a much younger guy and make a profit but given our run of form, it's a very brave decision to take if true.

From the limited clips I've seen, Barrios is not an upgrade on Gana. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

I would have thought he'd be a great backup, spot starter, allow us to sell Morgan, Besic, McCarthy. Allow us to play 2 DMs at times. I cannot think they believe he can adequately replace Gana.

I agree that Barrios is not an upgrade but if PSG are going to shell out 45 million for a 29 year old I don't think we can say no. We have a decent amount of money but not enough to turn down offers like that. Hopefully Barrios is enough of a replacement that we aren't a complete mess were Gana to leave and the extra money can be put toward improvements down the road.

....sounds like we’re after silly money for Gueye. If this is all true, bringing in somebody 5 years younger for less money and lots of potential might be low risk.

It depends on how open the midfield is without Gana. Hopefully Barrios does well and it isn't an issue but that Spurs game was an utter mess without Gueye in the middle.
