This unfortunately. And it’s a massive shame as well I think. International football used to be exciting and full of unknowns. This year it’s being played at Christmas cos of corrupt officials and paid for through slave labour in a country that doesn’t like anyone who isn't a rich straight male.

Yip. I am emotionally tied to Everton, we all are, so we tend to 'accept' (to an extent) the rank corruption in football at our level, but, this world cup has taken that corruption to colossal levels with a total disregard for life.
It's probably always been along those lines, the last Brazil WC with huge stadia close to the favelas showed the disparity in priorities.
This time basic human rights, some on here would call 'woke', have been ditched for the dollar.
I think this will be ugly in its truest sense.

I feel guilty to say I will probably be watching it just like I have done with the last 2 dodgy world cups, and just like I tolerate the likes of Man City and Newcastle in the Premier League. I know I shouldn't but I can't help myself
