Player Valuation: £950k
I always find it hard to understand why transfer business is left almost to last day even the last hour.Ofoe is prime example it wasn't ratified due to it been completed pastthe deadline.I'll admit I don't know how transfers work but would it not be better to get them in early?? Anyway I really hope we can get 1/2 players in..Knowing Efc it'll be a interesting deadline day hopefully with some good twists

Nobody signs early because other clubs need to find replacements etc. Once someone makes the first move its like s dominoe effect... Also I think It was Moyes who said the bargains come on the last day when clubs are desperate to get new blood in snd need people of the payroll.

Btw last minute deals are slways the best...Deadline day cant beat it!

We'll already be working on signing 2/3 players and with things like finding money, agreeing a fee, talking personal terms etc etc it takes time. And mainly, theres no rush. A week would be enough for a transfer window in January but with a month the clubs take their time, especially ours!
Relax mate, we'll sign some decent players.

So we save money on wages by signing players at the end of the transfer window as opposed to the start. Happens every window.

In my head that actually involves Bill either buying lottery tickets or looking for cash down the sofa

Moyes has no money to spend. So he has to sell in order to buy. And he's made it clear that he's not interested in selling anyone. So the chances are that any signings will be loan signings. And the problem there is we can't sign them until the club is ready to release the player, which tends to be close to deadline day, because they want to get all their transfer business done first and make sure that they can afford to let the player go.

Maybe Moyes wanted Ofoe at the time but has since decided that he doesn't rate him.

That's the only thing I can think of. Surely if we were really interested we would have wrapped it up by now.
Pity, cos I was looking forward to seing him join us in a position where we need strengthening.

.....has to be brinkmanship for us I'm afraid. When we have cash to spend he tends to have his signings lined up and brings them in early. Our dealings this time will go to the wire, loan signings probably unless he moves somebody out and has a couple of quid to spend.
