Will Rooney play again for Everton?

Whilst the venom isn't as strong as it was - no 'Fat Little Knobhead' chants today - the 'Rooney, what's the score? Rooney, Rooney, what's the score?' chants at the end suggest he's still very much disliked by many EFC fans.
Very true, compare that to Fellaini's reception.

I even shouted to Fellaini that his hair looks boss. Didn't tell Rooney that

HE IS THE GREATEST PRODUCTO OF OUR UNDERAGE SYSTEM AND HAS NEVER DENIED HE IS A TOFFEE? DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON

Since he left he's won pretty much everything he could at club level, we used the money to bring in players like Arteta, Cahill, Baines, Lescott etc.

At the time I was gutted he left, but as a club we needed the money and we are in a better position for him leaving. If he came back before he was 33 I think he would be a good addition. Anytime after that and it wouldn't be worth it.

I doubt it will happen though.

It's never going to happen. We all know it, he knows it.

It's nice to think of football like a fairytale and roy of the rovers stuff, it's not. It's a business.

Rooney is on 250/300k a week. He's never ever ever going to decide out of the goodness of his heart to drop his wages down to 60k a week to play for us, then there's the cost of actually buying him too.

This is Everton, we moan every season about not spending enough.

Wayne Rooney will never professionally play for Everton again.

I don't even bother getting wound up over Rooney when he comes back to play at Goodison. He's done well for himself and we've moved on ourselves. To me, he's just a part of the opposition when we play Man Utd. Albeit a player to be wary of. That said, I also wouldn't want to see him back playing for us when he's in his 30's. We're better than that now.

Let's face it, the reason he got so little heat yesterday was because he was practically annoymous during the match

If he'd scored, there would have been some serious bile I imagine

I still like Rooney, NEA. Would have him back tomorrow if we could afford him

He was a child and he responded like one when he got nothing but hate in the first couple of games since his move. He's grown up now and clearly realised he was a tit back then. Biggest sign he's still a Blue is his constant failure to turn up at Goodison Park. Loves us does, Wayne. He's World Class and id have him back any day of the week.

Cheers Wayne for effing off to United and turning your back on your home city club which gave you a chance in football.

Muchos gratias. Really hope you are enjoying your £250k a week. Well in.

You are always welcome back as a fan, but don't ever think of coming back as a player when you are past it out of sentiment.

Thanks again. Us fans are so grateful you saved the club from bankruptcy and extinction.

Oh and Bill would also like to convey his appreciation for the sacrifice you made.

Once a Blue Forever a Red Always a Blue.

How noble of us to give this poor, no-hoper of a player, a chance in football. Truly The People's Club
