There will be giggles and laughter over on RAWK when they see this thread but fcuk them we don't care what the Red Shyte think. Why the fcuk should we care.:)

You don't care about them so much that you mention them and their forum in your opening post about a thread concerning Everton's chase for a 10th title.

just saying...

Very true.

And if anyone had written those words circa 1983 they would have rung very true then as well.

:(

The current 26-year gap is the longest gap in our history between winning titles.

just saying...

I don't see why that is pertinent.

There is no sell by date stamped on a football club's ass after which they are washed up.

Let's take the last three Champions of England.

United went from 1967 to 1993 without a title.....26 years.

City went from 1968 to 2012 without one.....44 years.

Chelsea went from circa 1954 to 2004.....50 years.

And all three of those clubs suffered relegation in their fallow years.......an indignity very few, if any, of us on this board have ever known for for beloved club.

26 years and counting......but the wait will end one of these days.

Look at Man Utd.

One great man can change the whole club and achieve things we couldn't even dream of.

With a whole bunch of Wonderkids and just at the time when most everyone else was gash though it has to be said.

And Money.

Anyone who disagrees with this is off their head.

I disagree. Moyes wasn't our Messiah, he was merely a decent manager, with strengths and weaknesses.

One of these 3 things will happen with our new manager:

1) we improve by playing more risky attacking football, we win the games we would normally draw, and beat the teams in the bottom half more consistently. We regularly qualify for Champs League and enter the Big Money game. We win a cup! We sign some very tasty Europeans.

2) we remain best of the rest, between 5th-8th...sometimes it looks like we're improving, sometimes it looks like we took a little step back...but generally it's more of the same. We come close to winning a cup. Our financial situation is as-you-were. We sign some Scandinavians, one of whom turned out really good, the other one was a decent squad player, and the third fella didn't get game time.

3) we play less effective football, win less games, aren't able to step up a gear, the players seem to be less motivated. the team is too good to go down, but we find ourselves stagnating in the no-man's-land of 10th-15th season after season. The odd quarter-final run in a domestic cup is the only real highlight. We seem to be bringing in even less money than before, so our best players have left now. We generally don't sign new players much, apart from picking scraps from the lower leagues and promoting youth players.

A new dawn awaits!

That basically.

When ever you replace somebody with someone else you have three options, you get someone better, you get someone worse or you get someone about as good.

We'll find out which one this one is.

Who's to say three or four really good kids aren't champing at the bit for us and the next man could be the one to inspire them to greatness??

Need a lot of cards to fall right for us, but it's not a complete impossibility IMO.

Two of them could be lookers and end up slotting a few famous pop stars and the clubs profile goes through the roof too.

I actually think we will win our 10th league title before the RS win their next one. This club has a proud history and heritage and maybe some rich business person might want to buy us out and help take us back to where we belong. It's not that implausible.:)
