He's going to Chelsea lads, it's a foregone conclusion, stop doing this to yourselves. We're just going to ensure that they pay through the hooter.

Lukaku is already gone mentally. Forcing him to come back for one more year could be detrimental. He might start playing selfishly and causing off-the-pitch disturbances. The only question now is if Chelsea will pay anything close to our asking price. If we can get anything over £80 million, we should jump at it. It's time to move on.

There are so many things that are working in our favor right now that Chelsea won't have much choice but to meet our demands if they want him.

1) We did all of our business early, and it appears we are signing Giroud and Rooney (striker depth)
2) World Cup is around the corner, so Rom most likely won't go on strike
3) In addition Costa being an idiot, the relationship between Conte and the club is tense. I think the club will give in to Conte's demands and they may overpay for Lukaku (hence the 100 mil). I find it hard to believe they would let a great manager like that leave.

Will anyone meet our demands? Who knows. It all depends on:

A) How badly does Conte want Lukaku? Will he switch targets if things don't go his way?
B) How strongly Rom agitates for a move.

Agreed mate. The longer into the window we get without any movement plays into our hands I think. It will end up like stones where they pay say 90m with 10m performance related add ons or something like that

Which won't be any different to the previous ' shop window ' season for him

Off the pitch disturbances ? He does that every time he goes away on international duty and starts blabbing to the press about us not being good enough for him

True, but in previous windows, the talks with other clubs were vague and they weren't coming close to our valuation. I fully expect that Lukaku has already had talks with Chelsea and knows exactly what they're offering him in wages. I would think it would be more difficult for him to return to Everton after being so close to his "dream". I personally believe that what we have seen in previous years would be nothing compared to how he would act out next year if we kept him.

If we keep him until January, his value to a CL team left in the competition goes up dramatically because he will be by far the best available buy that isn't cup tied. If we don't get 100 million for him now, we'll surely get it in January. This is business.

The real mega money moves seldom happen in Jan though, and we'd face having a sulking Lukaku moping around the place for another 6 months. He wants to go, there's solid interest, we should cash in now.
