will arteta be the subject of immense transfer speculation next season like lescott?

We all had a similar conversation at the end of last season.

Our quality players will always be targets for teams who can afford them!

We hi-lighted that most likely targets would be Arteta, Lescott, Pienaar and I think Timmy was the other. Followed by Rodders and Jags.

This doesn't make us a 'selling' club. It demonstrates to me that we now have an attractive quality squad.

I think 7 years ago the only player other teams were sniffing around was Yobo!

Not much has changed over the last 6 months. Trash journalism will always link our players away with little/no foundation.

Testament to Moyes that we have a network of players that so many teams might want.(y)

Furthermore, if we remember what a good team we are as opposed to a collection of individuals...we won't need Citehs money to challenge for a top 6 place.

The start to the season has been a blow, but with everybody fit and firing the results will follow. We are not close to our form of last season and we will get better and the new players will start to gel in as well.

It is not a question of me not being realistic, or being optimistic/pessimistic.
I have faith that we will come good and not stop believing. (y)

Arteta will not leave us, as won't Rodwell.
We'll hopefully lose Pienaar. Also Jo will return after his loan expires when AC Milan take Adebayor from Citeh. Moyes will realise the error of his ways and pursue Moutinho with the receipts from winning the Europa league. After the Kirkby move falls through Elstone and BK will declare their opposition to the project and relief that evil Terry Leahy's plans to destroy Everton were defeated. Our new mysterious Russian oligarch will then have the board executed and order the building of a new 90,000 seater stadium in Stanley Park. Jagielka will win world Player of the year as Everton stroll the league and Liverpool are relegated to the championship after Gerrard Torres and Johnson signed for the blues in a mysterious swap deal for Tony Hibbert.

I could see Peanut going and maybe Rodwell if say a top 4/City bids on him. Arteta no way. No one is going to bid 10+M on a player who is coming off a disasterous knee injury.

Just ignoring any emotion about perhaps he may go in the next year or two. But look at it another way. This injury has been really bad so if he gets back to a fitness level would this be a good time to sell after all this sort of injury often returns and is never really sorted, always leaves a weakness there. So would next year be time to capitalise and let him return to Spain.

Out until Xmas? By the time he gets match fitness and back on top of his game he will have missed the best part of the season.

Next summer’s world cup will have quite an effect on the transfer market. Not sure how it will affect us overall but I can’t see Arteta breaking into his national side this, not this season anyway.

Pretty sure he’ll be with us this time next year
