Wildlife in your Garden

View attachment 333090Anyone able to confirm my thoughts about this being a garden warbler? Thought they usually left in september

It`s definitely a Warbler, but they`re really hard to tell apart, could be a Willow Warbler, as Garden Warblers are quite secretive and not as common.

As our climate warms up, more and more migrants are choosing to stay now.

Look at Little Egrets, they`re everywhere !

As soon as I saw it I thought warbler but I’ve never really seen any warblers (not to actually recognise and name apart from a chiffchaff). Didn’t look yellow enough for a willow warbler and looking in my book, willow warblers legs are more pinkish. And it flitted about so much, I was lucky to get that picture.

And I know migratory birds are staying longer, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is just a late leaver/remainer.

Chiffchaff? A few are still being reported in November in Kent ( where I am ) according to the Kent Ornithological Society website. It's unusual to get such a view of one as they are usually in trees and don't stay still for long.
Colours aren’t quite right but I may be wrong. It was flitting about all over. Wasn’t an easy picture to get and it didn’t stay long.
