I don't know why we've reverted to Cahill up front doing nothing, he was far better recently playing deeper. I'd agree with either Pienaar central for Gibson with Drenthe on the left, or just a straight swap Donovan for Drenthe. Either way Royston would destroy the likes of Gary Caldwell and Emmerson Boyce.

Cahill should be benched. Simple as. He really does seem to be selected on past glories.

He's perfect for games like City, but when we're trying to break teams down he just shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI. I'm sick of saying it. You need a creative player in such an important role -- i.e. Osman -- and whilst I understand that we have injuries we do also have Landon Donovan. And even when Osman is fit Cahill's still picked there anyway.
