WHY THE RUSH?

We have 2 Premiership games remaining before David Moyes departs and I for one wish him well. There are names bonded about which is the norm but whatever happens we must be focussed on employing the right successor for the job. Please be patient and let Bill Kenwright make the decision which hopefully will be the RIGHT choice after all he was the one who gambled on Moyes all them years ago.
Everton were there before the appointment of Moyes and in years to come will be still be in existence. WE ARE EVERTON always remember that. We have morals and principles better than anyone that make the numbers up in the top flight.

Totally agree Bally, I think we only start pre season training in July. No rush, let's get the right man.

We need to appoint a new manager earlier than lateer. We need him to persuade the better players to stay usch as Afro , Jags and Baines. Thenhe needs to sort the good from the bad.
My biggest worry is, Will he have enough cash to buy good players without selling one of our better players.

we shouldnt have to rush we should have been prepared. but because we most likely were not prepared we will have to rush. we need to know the new manager asap

It is a bit unbeliveable looking at Bills flabbergasted reaction to Davey leaving - that he didnt have a plan in place considering Davey was entering the final year of his contract.

Who could make the decision on that prior to a new manager arriving, though?

The Chairman, the Board, the Chief Executive, the Club Secretary... Everton Football Club doesn't just stop operating as a business because Moyes has left. Even though it was also said Moyes had the final say on transfers, that couldn't have been completely true - with our debt all our players are for sale at the right price - that won't change unless there is significant investment, manager or no manager.

Because as we know, Everton has a tendency to leave things to the last minute and when this happens, it spells chaos.

Seasons which we prepare, and do things early, we do better. If we have no manager, we get it sorted immediately - end of.

But selling players is a football decision - even if nominally so. It requires a new on-field decision-maker to say who stays or goes. The board cant take those decisions.

UTD didn't wait around, we shouldn't rush the decision and we may need to wait until the end of the season to allow candidates to finish up (if they have something to play for) but we need to sound decisive or risk a steady flow of transfer requests. Perception is everything and I don’t think it helps saying 'I'm listening to the fans' and 'I'm asking around'. We should sound like we know what we want, and make a statement to put ourselves back on the front foot...'we have a list etc. A strong idea of the type of manager we need, a criteria'. At the moment it looks like chaos.

I think the players will sit tight and see who comes in. Bill needs to make an appointment that excites the players aswell as the fans. I don't think a championship manager, spl manager or the merry go round ones will do that.

Its about continuity and stability.

If the manager is in place and planning for the summer we should be settled and ready come August and the next season.

we need to appoint a new manager asap , otherwise we are at a great disadvantage in terms of incoming and outgoing transfers.

All the best teams get their business done early

I do feel without a manager the players may start doubting their futures.

We need to make the right choice and that manager needs to come in and inspire these players that this is the right football club for them and we're moving onwards and upwards.

We'll have a new manager in place by the time all this seasons football is played I'd guess.

I think a decision will be made within the next week but he may not be announced until after the last game, especially if he is still a manager of another club.
