Why have America never produced a world class football player ?

Would it be less sexist, for you, if she said they were the best women of football in the world. Some might say 1st class.

Come on, its not sexist to suggest womens football is so many levels behind men's football.

The USA women's team (who were world champions at the time) played a friendly a few years back against the USA U-17 men's team.

They lost 8-2.

The USA womens football team has some of the best female footballers in the world, I personally have no interest in it, but then I'm a football snob and wont watch anything lower standard then the pre-lockdown Premier League.

No money in the professional sport compared to the other professional league because at grassroots level football is very popular

Largely however the game does resonate in the culture, they prefer a lot of scoring or violence - ideally both

It's not sexist to say that, all things being equal, a man would probably beat a woman at most sports for all sorts of biological reasons. But when you're measuring class and ability, you do so against whatever peer-group they are operating in at the time. Even in his prime, Floyd Mayweather would probably have his clock cleaned by Tyson Fury, it doesn't mean that Mayweather isn't a great boxer. I think there's still less proportional skill and quality in the women's game due to the lack of long-term investment and the fact that it's only really still developing. But, generally speaking, the difference between men and women is really just a weight class

If your standard is pre lockdown PL then all World Cup is not worth judging. It's an inferior product.

For me, it just wasn't a sport that many played past youth. I'm 40, and from Florida. We won the AAU Junior Olympic Games for U-13, and had a pretty good group of players. Most of us after that didn't play in high school except for a few that usually had parents from Europe or South America. The amount of traveling was ridiculous. There was just too much to do whether you wanted to play American football, basketball, or just surf (me) on the weekends. I think it's changing, but even now, many of my friends that have kids tell me that they aren't interested in committing that much time to travel.

Landon Donovan, Brian McBride and Joe Max Moore to name but three top performers lol.

(I can't though add Tim Howard as he was really sh*te)

;):D

Although it has a massive population you have trillions of obese people and 95% of the population who entertain themselves having relations with pigs in trailors for fun. Most physical is drug assisted and results in pre-middle age heart attacks.

I would save Bruce and the e street band plus Chester Thompson and the Obamas and nuke the rest.

I do agree with you. To a point. But american football has been talked up now for ages. Since Pele and George Best played there.
They as they say , are still not quite getting there. Baby steps. One step at a time.
A bit like us since 1995........
American men will never be good at football. They are focussed upon burgers and white power. Europe should be an exclusive planet. The most civilised part of the earth. Stuff USA
