"Why Are Barcelona So Annoying?"

If Arsenal claim that they have had Fabregas poached off them by Barcelona is the pot calling the kettle black. Barcelona should ask them nicely, and then say, right just give us him and **** you frenchie.

Exactly right. Arsenal are the past masters of poaching young players. They will at least get a large fee for him if he goes, which is far more than Barcelona or any other team got when Arsenal came calling.

EXACTLY!!! Couldnt believe my ears when he was saying that???? Fair enough I was all for us getting Garbutt off Leeds and in the same breath I'd hate if someone just strolled in and took Baxter or whoever for example, but frickin hell.......think Arsenal should be happy with what they've had from his thus far

Anyway, Barca....they're no Everton

Davek, just a question, which team do you like watching at the moment, who's style of football do you enjoy?

I've enjoyed watching Inter in the Champions League (I dont follow Seria A...they might be different domestically). They dont hang about and they attack with pace. I dont really think any team in England is good to watch at the moment. In fact it's ******* dreadful entertainment value. I see bits and pieces of matches where teams get it right. I dont have a favourite 'style' team, tbh. I know what impresses me and what doesn't impress me. More importantly I wont be told to accept that something is [Poor language removed] hot when it makes me yawn.

I think Chelsea have played some entertaining stuff this year. I think we have as well, albeit not very often. I also quite enjoy watching the likes of Burnley and Blackpool, though thats admittedly partly because they're so laughably [Poor language removed] at defending.

Best game I've seen this season that didn't involve us was probably the first leg of Fulham against Shakhtar Donetsk. Shakhtar would just take shots from anywhere.

Chelsea are similar to Inter, Chelsea is still very much a Mourinho model. Strong, disciplined and in control. I like watching Chelsea, there short passing ability is underrated.

I'm sorry, but how can anyone get annoyed at a team that has just won the league with how many? 8 is it home grown players! They don't need sponsorship, they pay a charity to put on their shirt.

Barcelona are the perfect sporting club, and a model for any club wanting to achieve what they have achieved.

They spend less than Madrid, Man City and Chelsea over the years - and win more trophies.

Davek = Weapon of The Year 2010, is that 7 years in the row now? Now that is an achievement.

This.

Ok. Personally I like Barça's style of play. I also enjoyed watching the Utd treble winning side in 99, Arsenal with Henry, France with Platini and co, Sacchi's Milan. I didn't enjoy watching Blackburn in 95 and don't see anything as a team to particularly enjoy about the current CL winners. Although Milito's goals last night were both superb. But they're just opinions. I can also see the point about were such a dominant team as Barça become boring to watch. Not in my case because of the style of play but rather due to the sense of inevitability (usually). I once read a similar appraisal of Don Bradman. A glorious stroke player and a fabulously quick scorer, He was a joy to watch. But there was so little sense of vunerability, it took a little pleasure out of the contest. I can understand how that same vunerability, along with their exquisite football when in possession, was what made the Brazilian and French teams in the 1982 world cup so exciting to watch. Again that's all opinions and it's all debatable as far as on-field performance is concerned. As for the off field antics, media hype etc. Real Madrid are the number one imo. But let's face it, no club is squeaky clean in that respect.
I often hear people say they hate football. it's always on tv, in the news. Their spouse is always putting it first. They make too much money blah, blah, blah. All valid points (again in my opinion). There is too much coverage, they do make too much money and we probably should give a little more time to our families. But in the end it's not football they hate. It's the hype, the dirt and the time it consumes. I hate Real Madrid and can't stand Valencia. But it's nothing to do with what I've seen on the pitch. It's the all consuming love fest you get here from the national media, or in the case of Valencia, the regional media.

Good post, James. I think you have something with that line about vulnerability + brilliance = watchability. Very astute.
