I've tried to stay off this forum recently as I try to focus on other things going on in my life other than Everton for an extremely pleasant change, but just thought I'd have a gander at what people have made of the result tonight.

Honestly mate, you are so embarrassingly driven by an anti-Koeman agenda it hurts. I'm blown away that you actually can somehow rationalise the thought that Bolasie and Lukaku have the most effective partnership in the Premier League purely as a result of luck. Bolasie has been excellent in terms of changing the way we play, and he's a winger for crying out loud, they've literally been known for decades to not be consistently excellent. I'm not even going to start on your bizarre fetish for a man who actually calls himself Rhino.

Dearie me. Rhino.

So you dont like Evertonian and superb u23s manager David Unsworth then.

ok lol

I was amazed he dropped Holgate when he did. He'd be more than capable, was consistently getting forward and moving. My biggest fault with Coleman is that he never ever moves for the player (few others are culprits also).

???

Coleman makes more overlapping, incisive runs than any other RB in the league. The guy never stops moving.

I don't know if the Koeman's tactics were wrong, as I am no expert. I really don't know how Koeman could have stopped this in form Chelsea side with those world class players and one of the best managers in the world. However, I see a lot of people talking about the lack of motivation. Well, I do believe that if our extremely well paid players that play in the most competitive league in the world need additional motivation before each game, then they are simply not fit to wear the royal blue jersey or the jersey of any of the PL teams.

We are work in progress.
Sure I switched off at 2, sulked for couple of hours, however, in context of this league this result fits, not long ago Arsenal knocked three past Chelsea and people were questioning Conte appointment, they put 4 past united and the pressure on José, they put five past us and they become title contenders. And yet we sit in 6th after 11 games.

Y'know it could be that we just had a really really bad day.

We all have 'em.....

Problem is mate we have far too many of them. Someone posted a stat up yesterday and it was something like played 85 games against the so called big 4 and only won once in 25 years. In that time we've basically rolled over for over half of those games and haven't out in any effort whatsoever. From the 1st second yesterday we didn't look like ever winning that game.

My mate who is an ex footballer and coach text me yesterday and said Jagielka will look back on that video and be ashamed of his performance as he looked terrified of Costa. He wasn't wrong was he and if our captain has the look of a man defeated before a ball is kicked then it stands to reason the rest of them will as well.

It's almost acceptable and inevitable performances like yesterday. Jagielka will come out tomorrow and say we need to make it up to the fans blah blah blah. It's time to get shut of the old guard as in terms of success they have all been a failure and will continue to be so given the chance.

Martinez' system caused us to lose constantly, and win rarely. Koeman's system causes us to lose less often and win more often.

What kind of a Blue would prefer option 1 in that scenario? :coffee:

I'm afraid a comparison to Martinez is NO recommendation......and we've started to slide.
