I agree, about Rooney - everyone is glossing over his results at Derby and excusing any failure he might have had there.

I think 1 win in 15, on 2 seperate occassions, was mentioned last season at some point?

I would fear a repeat of Shearer or something here.

He definitely wants it, but does he want it enough to quit in a World Cup year? We’ll find out very soon I suspect.

He’s only in that job until the WC ends, as soon as they lose he’s out and even if he won it (unlikely) he’s nothing else to do.

He’s on 1.2 million p/year. He’ll be on multiples of that at Everton
