Who's bigger, Everton or Newcastle?

City couldn't even sell out the semi final a few years ago at home when the tickets were £20, we sold out at home and out tickets were like 35 quid.

We didn't to be honest...34,027 was the attendance that night.

The thing with City is that they seemed to have better fans when they were up against it and weren't successful as they had a hardcore of 30K that would be there pretty much no matter what. They struggle these days with early kick offs and night games, despite their new found success, because they have never gained the support around the country from being successful over their whole history. So whilst their cross-city rivals can fill their stadium with out of town daytrippers, City haven't built up that kind of support yet. Their attendance for the Semi Final against us was pathetic because of how good they are now.

That is the difference with us and them, because there wouldn't be an empty seat in sight in any game home or away if we had achieved what they had in the last 5-10 years.

Re the Geordies, they have their 52K Stadium which is slowly moving down the rankings in terms of biggest Stadiums in the Country. That is all they have to cling on to and if/when we move in a few years they will have literally nothing to claim they are bigger than Everton for. Other than Stadium size and crowds due to their favourable circumstances they don't come close to us in any aspect.

Because Newcastle's stadium is bigger than ours (for the time being!!) they get bigger crowds than us.

That's the one and only area where they're bigger than us.

They've spent numerous seasons in the Championship in this decade alone FFS.
