I've been through my thoughts on Lukaku many times before, I've even provided a link to my screediest essay on the lad. We won't get a striker who scores as many goals as he does in a season, but I'm certain we can find someone who isn't such a liability to the team in every other aspect of their football.

*I would like to see what he can do with suitable players around him. But he is in danger too if he does not start to make a consistent impact.

Hopefully these can grow.

I would keep Williams and Baines but they would not be starters as we need younger if we want to compete for top spot.

Broadly the same as my thoughts, except:

Wouldn't keep Williams as we need a complete rethink on how to set up our defence.
Would certainly keep Lookman, Holgate and Davies.
Also need to think about Calvert-Lewin and Mirallas.

Some of our supporters are unreal. He's scored 12 goals in 21 games this season yet people would rather have Shane Long as he runs around a lot!!

Take his goals away from the team this season and we'd be looking over our shoulders at the likes of Hull and Swansea.
 

It's boring and we all know who needs to go.

Gibson has had some interest, niasse has, clev has and Kone is proving difficult. These players are all on high wages so will take time to shift.

Patience does not seem to exist on this forum for some. It's early January and we have signed one and are on the cusp of signing a class midfielder to replace Barry.

Stop moaning. Things will happen.

Barry should be a sub for the last 10 mins against tired legs
Lukaku top player and should do our best to keep him but we need impressive signings for this.
