Who would be happier than Everton

But I'm realistic and in the current climate of the PL we can't be expecting much more.

We can't expect to beat relegation threatened Wigan in a home quarter final to set up a semi with Championship Millwall, most likely getting into a cup final and a chance to win some silverwear for the first time in 18 years?

Less to put right, I agree.

But that this team isn't going to win a trophy or qualify for europe is a huge missed opportunity and I'll mostly look at this season with regret due to our underachivement.

I mean the fa cup draw was an utter utter dream.

As a newer fan, this is the most disappointing thing. We played good football for so much of the season. We didn't have two months sitting at the bottom of the table. Yet, the season ends as have most of the recent ones, just outside Europe and without a trophy.

It's hard not to be disappointed when the season still seems like it has been so much better than that.

there is one just like this on most porn sites. are you trying to double bluff us

Can't even work out what this means.

Anyway, like I say it wasn't a piss take question.

I just don't know why we worry about other teams so much.

For me, I'm not bothered if Wigan or Weat Brom are happy or happier than Everton I care about Everton (and my dads team but that's different because they are turd).

You could ask why I'm in this thread then. And you'd be half right. But I think my question is valid. It's like you're trying to make yourself feel better about how much of a waste this season has been for us by looking for failures elsewhere.

Oh don't get me wrong the Wigan result was awful. We most definately should of been in a cup final. But look at spurs going out to Leeds, arsenal to whatever poor team they did, l'pool to oldham.. And this happens to teams every year.

Was a missed opportunity. A freak result if u will.
Yes I expect in those circumstances for more. I expect us to win that game and be in the semi, but like with ALL teams it doesn't always work out the way you want.

If we were sixth and in an F.A cup final I think you would find a general air of contentment.
The loss to Wigan really ruined this season.

Yes,if we finish sixth it has been a creditable performance. But for me,it is an opportunity lost. This season ,a little more adventure,a little more belief from the manager and I firmly belief it is third place that would be our objective, not fourth.
That for me is the disappointment.

No, course it doesn't, and you're bang on about Spurs, Arsenal etc... I'm just saying, we're entitled to expect a wee bit more than what this season delivered.

It is really annoying that this team has played so well all year and won't make it into europe.

It's their own fault for not turning up vs wigan, like. But still, we've played so well in most games and it just hasn't been enough.

that is roughly how I feel. where we are feels below how we have played, but once you get over the kind of gutting defeat every team will get in a season then I have felt better about this season at times than for a long time. sorry if that offends people and think its meaningless to say what other teams do doesn't matter because its what other teams do that we are basing our season on. I can honestly say that I would recommend watching Everton to a neutral without any fear of being biased, and fourth doesn't feel like something that requires a whole load of luck next season

I see what you're saying and if I thought we'd be able to replay this season with the same teams I'd be pretty hopeful because we only need a little better luck with injuries, decisions, results etc.

But I go into every transfer window expecting everton to weaken and our rivals to strngthen. This one is no exception.

The thing is I think the fa cup was our priority.

I don't think when Moyes played neville he thought he was weakening our team. He is actually that mad.

playing Neville and Osman at times when more exciting options have been there on the bench is exactly where it feels it went wrong this season. But don't feel that will happen next season and some players who have looked like a big plus will start getting better

I don't trust Moyes to change, tbh. If he's still here come august I have no hopes for next season.

If we have another manager (and not some loser like Marttinez or Hughes or Megson) maybe. But I expect us to lose a few players in the summer.

We're in the awful position of having played well enough that our players look attractive but not so well that we can give them incentives to stay.
