Who will he bring from Wigan?

i like figueroa but i think that's based purely on the fact he scores boss goals, i doubt i've seen him apart from goal of the month competitions.

not sure where you got this from the press conference, it seemed to me he wouldn't even touch wigan, he talked about searching the whole world ffs.

i only want him to bring the FA Cup from there

Ok. So the Wigan players are ALL gash?, but it's okay to accept he manager who bought them all and got them relegated.

Yes Bryan. They're so gash, that Martinez has done a pretty good job getting them the results they have.

I don't understand the thinking regarding all of Wigans Players being rubbish.
Every relegated team has a few talented players. In 95 we finished low down the table and won the Cup. Parkinson, Ferguson and Unsworth were superb players but probably would have had similar remarks made about them at the time too.

I think martinez will assess the players and work out what he feels we are missing. He will then work out if a better option exists outside of his former club or if someone would fit perfectly that he already knows.

FWIW I would bring in Mcmanaman and one of the out of contract defenders. We need a squad. Pienaar isn't getting any younger and lost form badly early this year. Another winger would be a fine addition and other than the untried Kennedy or Naismith, who is terrible out wide, there isn't much scope, plus he is a blue. I think McCarthy would be too expensive and only worth pursuing should Fellaini depart. There are better value players in Belgium/Holland too.

Slight problem with him though, he is fcuking gash. Badly Gash.

Their best defender by Wigan fans accounts, insist that he was fit for most of this season rather than inured they'd have stayed up easily. Always injured though

The ten million we get for Leighton's standing leg can go towards Dave Whelan's Missing Leg Fund and to buy a couple of Wigan players. We can spend the other £20M on a replacement left back and keep some of the change.

I don't see how anyone is good enough.

Hopefully he'll stick to the Moyes policy of trying to only buy players that are better (or have better potential) than the one's we already have.

I also hope he sticks to an ethos of hard work and professionalism. But yes, we all hoping that he buys three obscure Spanish/:Latin American players we've never heard of that make Mikel Arteta look like Danny Mills.

The problem with that philosophy is it leaves us with the smallest squad in the league, when a few lose form or get injured as players do during the course of a season we've got literally no body to come in and do a job for a few games. Alcarez isn't going to be first choice but as a SQUAD payer we shouldn't be all snobbish about the idea, same goes for Kone, who may not be Ronaldo but looked okay enough against us, scored in all 3 games didn't he? This is why I find the thread about selling Jelavic bizarre, sell him and we've got 1 striker on the books. We need a squad not just a good first XI

Not even 100% sold McManaman, TBH. Hit a bit of a purple patch recently, but prior to that, he wasn't doing anything of note. Plus, I still haven't forgiven him for that horror challenge he made.
