of course it is, we're competing with teams like you, spurs and RS who have all had £100m summers in the last two seasons - we shouldn't even be in the equation mate - simple as that.
it changes every week as to who i think will finish 4th - every team has massive faults and have all lost disasterous games so far this season - it will be a 4 horse race to the wire. you can sit there and say we have europe to content with now (history shows in the last few campaigns it has had no effect and we have a good deep squad atm - better than spurs' and RS' despite their millions and a few starting united players wouldn't get on our bench). it is a huge ask, it's also a huge ask for a team that's conceded 5 to leicester and 4 to MK dons, it's also a huge ask for a team that just lost at home to WBA - a team nailed on for relegation and it's also a huge ask for a team that have lost back to back games vs villa and west ham.
somebody has to finish there though, we have as much chance as the other 3.

The answer is nothing. In fact if you're working on common sense the defence should have really been sketchier last year as they got used to the possession passing game from the back.
For mine we've now worked through some of the CB dramas we had due to poor form and so on versus Chelsea and Arsenal and to an extent Leicester, but the individual mistakes have let us down and continue to let us down from senior pros. There's obviously still issues to work through as we're by no means perfect but those mistakes ruined what otherwise was a fairly solid defensive performance, carrying on from Wolfsburg and West Brom. Aside from Chelsea we haven't really been taken apart by anybody defensively, Everton has been its own worst enemy.

OK MATE
We are leaking goals for fun because we refuse to play our best CB, with Stones partnering either Jags or Distin in the team our record is insane (P14 W11 D1 L2), even this season our two good defensive performances have come with him at CB.
Our defence will be fine when Stones is properly installed as first choice centre back, which is far more that can be said about Liverpool and United.
