So it appears we are stuck in the usual situation where the DoF is suggesting modern forward thinking options no-one else in charge will have heard of, the owner is chasing some exciting but unpractical madcap option and Bill is still putting forward his old school ketchup-on-steak proper football men options.

You’d think maybe they could have had these discussions weeks in advance and decided on a course of action, but then I guess Lampard’s sudden resignation must have come as quite a shock to them.
