I think its clear at this point Stek is the #1 pick out of the two. I think Robles distribution out of the back alone gives other teams an extra 3-4 chances on goal every game. Other than that we really wont have much to separate the two until theres something to complain about. That always seems to help.

Sad state of affairs that these are the only 2 to pick from. All the top 10 clubs from last season have stronger keepers and that should have been addressed already.

I'd play Joel at the moment based off his good efforts from last season

Ideally, we'd get another keeper in, as I don't think either are a long term choice as #1, but Robles filled in during a big period of chaos last season and did about as well as could be expected

His distribution is arse awful, but I like other aspects of his game and he'd get the nod from me, at least until he had a bad patch of form

Stek seems a bit more of a steady performer, i had my own views on him before that he wasn't up to standard but he seems pretty consistent so far in pre season.

Joel is capable of pulling off better saves but i think he's more erratic and could tell in the game yesterday Koeman was not happy with where he kept kicking the ball.

Can see Stek getting the nod for now with RK trusting him more due to previous clubs but don't imagine either will be a long term #1 past this season.

I feel comfortable with Stekelenburg in goal. A feeling so seldom experienced with Everton keepers. He is surely the #1 for now.

Fulham never used him much by the way was steck the keeper the Holland side substituted in a oenalty shoot out, for the then Newcastle keeper to win the pen shoot out as their record was woefull?
Robles has a future either with us or another club he may become a better keeper, he has let less in pre season too!

Robles just never seems convincing to me to ever be a top goalie. He's far too hesitant and inconsistent . Bottom line is we need a new goalie. Stekelenburg until then.
