who does VDM have to kill to get a game?

if vdm is still having 'attitude problems' then why is he even on the bench?

from 60 mins on in todays game we so obviously needed a shot in the arm. again moyes sat on his hands. today we got away with it and so we're happy. fair enough. if we hadn't...

vdm (as someone mentioned earlier) would have provided us with the impact we needed to seal the win. he does have the kind of quality we are often lacking. today would have been a perfect playform for him to show us something. otherwise dont even bench the guy!

I think it doesn't really matter as Gosling played well.

He's got a good engine and was neat and tidy on the ball.

I'm not going to go mad over his performance too much because it wasn't a MOTM performance but i was pleased with him and he did well considering it's his 1st start.

I'd like to see how he does against a better side, but i was very pleased with the lad today.

And now we come out of the game with a young promising player for the future gaining his first experience.

As good as VDM can be and he still does have soemthing to offer us when fit he should be a last resort only.

He plainly doesn't have a future at this club so best to use players who do i'd say.

Regardless of one's personal opinion of VDM, I tend to look at the issues as they stand RIGHT NOW.

RIGHT NOW, VDM could help us on the wing.
RIGHT NOW, we're hurting for able bodies.
RIGHT NOW, VDM has the skill that frankly other players for the club don't.

I could give a rat's rear end about how many chances he's had (not many if anyone cares to be honest about it), what he's done in the past, what his wages are, etc....

I. Don't. Care.

Many have decided that they'll overlook his injuries that he's had here and blame all of his issues on alcohol or whatever personal issues they speculate that he's had. Fine, blame ALL of his issues on him.

As it stands, until we get a lot of our players back healthy, I want Moyes to use everyone at his disposal who could help us as all I care about is three point every weekend.

That includes VDM.

I find this quite strange we win away from home again, played really well yet some people still want to have a pop at moyes. Are you seriously suggesting the best way to win today at 1-0 up was to bring VDM on. Also Moyes sat on his hands hmmm i wonder why oh yes we won. Not only did we win but we won well and should have been buy a bigger margin.

You answered your own question in your last sentence. We should have won by a bigger margin.
The point people have been making re VDM is that he's a talented and experienced player who (despite a chequered history at the club) could have been brought on to assist in achieving that higher margin.
I think he showed sufficient skill and commitment during his one brief appearance this season to warrant a second bite.
I'm also not sure that having him languishing on tbe bench for no good reason sends out the best message either to younger players in the squad or more broadly about the club in general.
I mean, from what little we know about the breakdown of relations between VDM and Moyes, it relates to things which compared to the antics of certain other players, were quite mild.

Robin what is mild about letting the club down time after time If you feel the need to have a go at Moyes my I suggest you query the wisdom in signing a player who had a similar record at his last club to the one he has here

i've criticised vdm as much as anyone, i dont get this putting players on the bench and never using them........ and doing it repeatedly. if he's benching him then he must be involved in some plan that moyes has or is he really just making up the numbers ? if he's gonna be in the squad then he has to get game time, or is he just cover for 1 player and 1 player only? it is baffling, personally i'd be trying to get every second out of the guy on the basis that he owes us.

I've always thought the same. 30 minutes at least to pay back his salary in a small part. What little I've seen of him he hasn't set the world on fire but looked like he has a few tricks up his sleeves.

My slant on it all is basically this, if Moyes thought he could do a job he would play him, i dont fall for the story that Moyes dislikes him, he had that big barny with Dunc many years ago and still picked him. We can only assume that he isnt impressing in training, its possibly that his head is elsewhere.

Maybe he will get a game in the FA Cup or maybe Moyes is waiting for a game in which we are out of sight, throw him on and see what he can do.

1. As far as we know he got drunk once and then had the temerity to be upset about his baby daghter being ill. Oh and he was injured quite a bit.
Compare with say....Lee Bowyer (violent racist attack on member of public, violent (racist?) attack on teammate, repeated incidents of racist abuse), Joey Barton (violent attacks on member of public, violent attack on teammate), various players done for D&D, drunk driving, leaving the scene of an accident having caused the death of a member of public etc). All still getting games.

2. I didn't have a go at Moyes - try reading what I wrote, it may help you to understand the point I was making. .

3.

Hmmm cryptic.... and the player whose signing I'm supposed to question is...?

Lomana lua lua played for portsmouth days after his baby son died.

he didnt go out on the lash, and have a go at his manager.

Lee Bowyer was found innocent of the allegations of attacking a person of ethnic origin (???) - but he was present , johnny woodgate was found guilty though of being 'a part' of it.

Joey Barton pleaded with his crack-bag brother to come home and face the music for killing anthony walker.

Where is the condemnation for Duncans many many punches, the headbutt? cantona's infamour kick? Gascoigne hitting his then wife? why stop at football? remember frank bruno?
