Which ex-Everton player would you choose?

If we are just talking about what the current side needs then it has to be Neville Southall, but if its anyone then Dean, Ball, Labone or Hickson simply because of who was talked about when growing up.

Peter Reid cos this team really needs him. We'd concede far fewer goals.
Next up, Sheedy. He'd drop crosses on Lukaku's bounce like he did for Sharpy. Also he scored 1 in 3.5 himself, never mind the hundreds created.

Our sh1ttest position? GK!

Anyone that doesn't say southall must be smoking glue imo
Kids are smoking glue these days? Explains a lot.
Agree with Southall though. As well as the obvious impact he'd make, the fact that he'd also "talk" to the team-mates mean we'd probably cut the fannying around at the back out as well... On the rare occasions the crowd was quiet during the 80s, Neville's colourful terms of endearment and encouragement to his team-mates taught me a whole new vocabulary in my tender years!

Off to sniff a joint now.

I watched the great Labby , and boy did he organise the defence in play never mind a corner - he always stated he looked after Westy as the big Bruisers like Jack charlton targeted him on corners, what a class act he was!

Not according to Big Jack's autobiography....gist; I went up and we scored, I may have even got a touch, next time we had a corner I went up again, I heard West, who was a 14 Stone monster say, 'Leave him to me lads' and he did, he went right through me and knocked me flat. I didn't try that again.

Also, It was rumoured that Big Jack had a 'little black book' where he kept a 'mental record' of people He or his team mates had to watch / sort out. Morrissey - all 5foot 6 inch of hard knock, put him on his back with 'extreme prejudice' and said to him... put that in your little black book, [ bad language removed ]

He admitted this I think. Other name was Bobby Lennox of Celtic I believe.
Back on topic....
Current side needs Southall, closely followed by Peter Reid then Labone or Dave Watson...leaders and winners lads.
See again the best I saw, even for just one game.....the incomparable Alan Ball!!!! And he would be amazing with this team too by the way but would have publically strangled any one of half a dozen other players by now!!!!!
Best I never saw...got to be Dixie, surely?
