Roast dinner is an exception though, I think.
I ain't a fan of putting opened stuff anywhere other than the fridge.

Well yeah, i keep tomato sauce in my living room for months and it never goes bad.
That's because of a high sugar/vinegar content, which are all but immune to spoilage from room temperature as those ingredients don't support bacteria.
For the same reason, you can leave vodka out forever and it would never spoil.
For legal reasons, they have to put "keep refrigerated" on the label but to all realistic extents and purposes... nah.
