Hmm i have it in the fridge, assumed it'd stay good for longer than in a cupboard. I ain't a fan of putting opened stuff anywhere other than the fridge.

The technical answer is fridge, as it does say keep refrigerated on the bottle.

However, I ignore that and keep it in the cupboard.

Well yeah, i keep tomato sauce in my living room for months and it never goes bad.

That's because of a high sugar/vinegar content, which are all but immune to spoilage from room temperature as those ingredients don't support bacteria.

For the same reason, you can leave vodka out forever and it would never spoil.

For legal reasons, they have to put "keep refrigerated" on the label but to all realistic extents and purposes... nah.

This reminds me of the reason why all takeaway coffee cups now come with the warning:

DANGER HOT COFFEE IS HOT AND IT MIGHT BURN YOU!!

Isn't it dependent on if it is indeed 'Sauce' or 'Ketchup' ?

As in 1 actually contains an element of Tomato and thus has to be kept in the fridge once opened ?

I keep the Sweet Chilli, Tabasco, Hot pepper, Mustard, Tartare etc all in the fridge, in fact the Brown is the only one I don't.
