When is it alright to call Everton 'us'

I generally find those that complain about the use of 'us' are those in work that hate football and pipe up with 'us? We? You didn't do anything, you just sat watching etc'. Basically those that don't get a club is about it's fans not just the players on the pitch!

I do make myself cringe with things like that, I feel as though i'm claiming some sort of pride or glory when actually, ive done nothing but **** off everton on a forum

Well some of us have done more than that.

Without people like me, my Dad, the fox, sheeds, Alan Ball, Goat etc. (sorry just the definite season ticket lids I can think of off the top of my head) the club wouldn't exist.

The players are 'they', the club is 'we'.

That's the question i'm posing. The hate that this thread is funny and pretty well deserved like, but i'm not too local and therefore can't get myself to many matches (I've only been to 2 this season) and therefore i feel as though I can't really define myself as part of everton. I'm just wondering what your opinions are on what it takes to be a part of everton, whether that be just in support or monetary support...

I use us or we but when you hear some 'fans' say it that don't have a clue what their on about that does make me cringe

eg... 'we played class at the weekend'
'reading ****ed us sideways'
What are the requirements? can any fan say it? only the players/board/coaches etc?

I always cringe when i hear people say 'we played well' regarding their club. I'd like to see your opinions...

I assume this thread was totally inspired by this:

I have a mate who also claims to support Juventus and the Green Bay Packers in the NFL, he constantly says 'we' and 'us' and it just sounds strange..

I think you can guess which Premier League team he supports..

Don't worry about mate. You're a Blue so you're one of we.
