Whats the transfer situation this summer?

Top priority-Right Winger.

Right, time for a quick name a player session.
Jesus Navas, anyone seen him play? I've heard he's quite good.
Pablo Hernandez? I hear Valencia are still quite cash strapped.
Arda Turan? Is he pacy?
Santi Cazorla?
Sessegnon
Marko Marin?

I love this game. Then we'll obviously sign a centre back. Cause that's how it works :P
I've said it before on here but I'd love to see us get Eliseu from Zaragoza for the right wing. He wouldn't cost much as he's not high profile but could do a similar job to Donovan on the wing. He's possibly quicker but it's hard to tell from watching them play on telly. especially as I haven't seen them on the same pitch at the same time

There we go, we're getting into the spirit of things. Good call.

Anyone else got any other names they want to put forward?

Out of those 6 only Cazorla, Sessegnon and Turan are reallistic as Navas (probably the best RW in Spain) is wanted by Real Madrid, Pablo... well he is actually a great RW, very young, and Valencia will probably let him go for the right amount of cash, which would probably be between 12-16m, but I cant see Valencia letting him go if they are truely willing to sell David Villa & David Silva. As for Marko Marin he'll more than likely be snatch by Bayern Munich IMO. Cazorla, Sessegnon or Turan would be great signings, but I would really like to see Donovan comeback after the summer. He settled in so fast, and he offer us something different to what we have, Pace, Smarts, Leadership and an eye for goal, so if we can bring him back the bring him back. Other wingers I like: Lee Chung-Young (Bolton) N'zogbia Diego Capel (Sevilla) Silvestre Varela (FC Porto) all of them have tons of pace and are very tricky.

Theres some lad from Sporting Lisbon I would like to suggest, dont recall his name, but hes the Captain, what was his name now, let me think........ Got it.

MOUTINHO

Any sensible suggestions?

Im sorry, but as good a player as the Mout is, he's not what we need right now.

We need a right winger

Realistically we will have to sell to buy because the board are reluctant to take a gamble on Moyes. I can see us mostly bringing in free transfers and loans to make the squad depth better. The first team is better than most others except the right side which id expect to be improved. I think it will be something like this:

In:
GK Jan Mucha
CB Philippe Senderos
LB Knut Olav Rindarøy
RM Landon Donovan
CM Joe Ledley
ST Jermain Beckford
ST Joao Silva

Out:
GK Carlo Nash
GK Ian Turner
CB Sylvan Distin
ST James Vaughan
ST Lukas Jutkiewicz

I wouldn’t put a price on the players because it would be pointless as people would either agree or disagree with them. Id expect at the higher end of out going being around £5M which is pretty good. We would have a strong 18 man squad in:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Arteta Fellaini
Donovan Bilyaletdinov Pienaar
Yakubu

Subs: Mucha, Neville, Yobo, Ledley, Rodwell, Cahill, Saha

We would also have good back up with:

Ruddy, Hibbert, Senderos, Duffy, Mustafi, Hammar, Rindaroy, Garbutt, Bidwell, Anichabe, Gosling, Orenuga, Osman, Wallace, Forshaw, Craig, Baxter, Beckford, Agard, Silva

Laughing out loud at this :

"Realistically we will have to sell to buy because the board are reluctant to take a gamble on Moyes"

And I like the name of that Knut fella.

Basically, there's not much dead wood to shift out to raise transfer funds and we're struggling to find the cash to buy players outright. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we only brought in bosman's and loans this summer. We do need to improve on the depth of the squad. It would be desirable to also find a player with that extra bit of quality to turn tight games, but those types of players do generally cost. Moyesie might let go a couple of players that he's not quite sure about to free up the funds to sign a Mountinho. That could spell the end for players like Vaughan, Anichebe and Distin. Ordinarily he'd probably like to keep those boys but they're most likely going to be squad men. He may decide to scarifice them to bring in a player who will make a difference to the first team.

I think there would be more chance of Yobo getting sold rather than Distin as it looks like Moyes prefers Distin

Nope,that should never happen

I can definately see Vaughn leaving this summer. If he's to fufill his potential he really needs 2-3 seasons of first team football and i think he's going to have to drop down a couple of divisions to get that in his current state.

I'd like to see Moyes bring in Donovan and the other names mentioned as in the bag already (mucha, beckford, Silva). Then possibly some other freebies to shore up the squad, but no one who will trouble the first team overly much (think jacobsen).

We could possibly see another of our younger players break through this season too as Rodwell did last season. Also I expect Billy to look like a different player after a proper rest and a preseason with the team.
