I'd get rid of Rodwell (if there was interest) for £15m and use the money to buy a playmaker. We have two all round defenders in Gibson and Fellaini, and next season i expect Barkley to be at a stage where he will be used more regularly, even if it's only as a back up.

Take away £10m for the cost of a good creative midfielder and that leaves you with £5m plus whatever we get for Bily (£5m ??). I would try and use that to get a good striker.

Move Coleman to RB, and continue to give Duffy appearances in the first team. Give Distin a 1 year contract extension while Shane gets to grips with being a first 11 player. You then have three relatively young defenders in Coleman, Baines, and Duffy, with Heitinga on the bench and Jags leading the back line.

This is obviously Football manager mode talking and most people would go mad at the thought of selling Rodwell when he's only 20 and for any less than £20m, but i honestly think the money we would get would allow the team to be improved far more than if he was playing for us regularly. We're at the point where the team is living season by season, we can't bank on Rodwell becoming a top top player in 3 years, because it may be too late.

Depressing isn't it ?

(Of course this is in a world where the board aren't a bunch of tits who steal all the transfer money)

Realistically i'd sign Pienaar back, he's the best we'll get for the £5m or so we will have to spend. I would also try and get Donovan to stay, but i just don't see us being able to afford the transfer fee at all.

This. If we could sell Rodders as well then we'd have £20m. Split down middle thats a decent creative mid and striker. That would improve our team dramatically and even if Rodwell has looked good and has potential, he hardly sets the world on fire and does little more than what Gibbo will offer. I doubt it will happen but that would be best option for us.

the problem is no club will pay 20 million for Rodwell he has done nothing the last two seasons always out hurt
its only paper talk that chelsea or man united will spend that money for him.

We have been linked with cerci, ricardo quaresma, Onuoha in the past few days. I reckon 2/3 will sign either both on loan or Onuoha being bought.

Maybe with quality on the wings saha might find his feet once again.

I like the look of this Cerci lad. I'd definitely have him.

I've heard several strikers are on the go but with the proper personnel in midfield it might not be a make or break position to fill. With Vellios and Anichebe getting good service we could go on a run.

As for Onuoha, I'm not sure he'd be first choice RB for a few years so I doubt he'll opt for us and it's not worth spending £3m on a position we are only short in due to a freak injury list.

In all I trust we will make at least one more signing and I doubt anyone but Bily will be on their way out.

Jelavic...just!

Vic super sub off the bench. Which IMO is his best posistion.

I'm sure jelavic is just that one goal away from a end of season goal fest !

How many times have we all said that this season?

I've counted 24 for myself alone. At this point, his confidence is so low, he can probably barely get out of bed. I'd like to see him come on as a sub, actually. Able to really run, and seek out that goal, and we could be in a position for him to be the hero.

Whether jelavic's goal slotting form really comes back this season or not... I truly believe there's 1 or 2 very important goals left in him this season.

If he's does nothing rest of season and bags us a winner vs the ****e or a FA cup final winner it'll be all worth while!

Got to be Anichebe for me, he is actually scoring goals when he plays.

You can't continue to pick Jelavic on the hope that he'll get into form again, its unfair on Vic.

Play well and you still won't get picked is a bad message to give, Vic is a lot more likely to score on Saturday.
