What would/could make you stop supporting Everton, if anything?

Everton until death, unlike Rooney until Man U,Don't want him back though it wouldn't stop me watching the blues if he did come back, don't think it will happen though, he obviously puts money before sentiment.

I couldn't in all honesty, when I was a kid alls that I wanted was to be able to hang around with my big sister and her crew lads and all but they always said no every single one of them was a kopite, after me begging time and time again "can I come with you's" they said only if you start supporting Liverpool, haha well I can tell you now I never once even pretended to them that i supported liverpool, I don't think it's actually possible for anyone to stop supporting the club you have supported all your life

Don't think anything would ever stop me complete. I'm definitely a plastic fan though, my interest changes dramatically throughout a season.

Have to take the bad with the good. Though my Everton experience is post 2000. But if you come through the bad times with the affection still in your heart then that support won't go away.

It's all worth it for those special moments, those goosebump memories. It's a feeling, not a choice. Born not manufactured and all that.

I got this idea after reading in the Rooney thread where @Slippin Jimmy said he would stop supporting Everton if Rooney came back.

So Blues are there any reasons you can think of that would stop you supporting the Toffees?

For me, nothing could as it's so ingrained in me and I long for the glory years to come full circle. However if I had only being following football a few years, I'd probably not bother, the money in the game and the elitism taking place would have me following rugby or something in no time.

Unfortunately I could never give up Everton.

It is just a preposterous notion, innit.

The only thing would make me give them up would be if we went out of business for some reason.

Or merged with some other team.

But even then I would still be Fitzroy rather than Brisbane

But it is a totally absurd statement that a fellow would make......saying he would "terminate" his support if Wayne Rooney signed.

Actually I suppose that is one such circumstance.

Say you had a son made it on to the RS team and became a fixture in it for the next ten years.

I suppose you are going to start going their game and wishing them to do well and would eventually morph into a Kopite.
