What the hell is going on with some Blues?!

We scraped a win from a Slovak team of no repute. Of course the team are still getting up to speed, but we have played 3 friendlies - two against better teams than Ruzomberok.

More concerning than that though is that having spent so much we can still see that the most important areas of the pitch are still exposed. A FW of repute and a CB to take over from the chronic Williams being the two obvious ones.

There's a lot to do and we look ropey and threadbare (apart from CM) even after spending a lot of cash.
At the end of last season, the five priorities for me were clear. Two top class centre backs, top goalie, top centre forward and back up/partner centre forward. We've signed three out of the five. Still badly need another centre half and someone to lead the line. I like the look of Keane, Ramirez and Pickford.

But who creates then?

Oh yeah, thats right, you want Ryan Bertrand, 9 assists in 3 seasons, BOSS HIM lar.
Taking that out of the equation where are we getting the 20+ gl guaranteed CF from? I can't see many teams departing with such a player and I can't see that calibre of player wanting to come to us just yet.

I think our only option is to sign a younger promising striker who could get 20+ goals.

I agree with this but it would have to be someone that's guaranteed to bang in 15 or at least close to it otherwise it's a big risk for potentially a lot of cash and we can't afford to mess this season up imo

Not one fan I've spoke too who doesn't support Everton agrees we should have sold rom

All have said if we had any ambition we'd have kept him. He had two years left

But we accepted the first bid didn't even push them to get more! And got rid. Bottled it and lost our top player. He will be missed you'll see by May.

But what's worse is we didn't even have a replacement lined up. Even two weeks after he's gone. Madness

Unfortunately seems as if Rooney is Lukaku's replacement. That I'm seriously worried about.

After 15 mins on here & a couple of conversations on twitter it would leave anyone thinking we're gonna get relegated next season. The negativity is mental. All I'm reading is that Koeman is rubbish, Steve Walsh is rubbish at being a DOF and at scouting, the players we bought are rubbish and over priced, losing Barkley (for chocolate buttons) and Lukaku is gonna have us finishing outside the top 10 and Moshiri is a massive fraud who's mission is to bleed the club dry, etc etc, lol what the hell is going on with Blues? Are people wumming or being serious? We've had one of the best windows I've ever seen in my lifetime, and it's still not over, not to mention all the positive happenings around the club.

We were 11 points off our best points tally last season in Koemans first season with a pretty average team barring a few players. If this seasons team turns 4 losses from last season into wins this year then we will break that record and it's hardly a mountain to climb in my opinion, especially with our new players, they say a good keeper alone can earn a team 10 points.

There's also every chance that the game plan is to go for a domestic cup and try to win the Europa. Would make sense as in a less number of games it gives you what 3rd or 5th place (if we only won the FA cup) would at the end of the season and it adds a trophy or 2 to the cabinate. I don't think we're strong enough to push the top 6 & win the Europa and a cup but I think with this team one or the other is achievable provided we get the Lukaku replacement and left sided CB that Koeman said he wanted to get in.

Maybe I'm being too positive but I really don't get all the doom and gloom and why people are acting like club is a mess from top to bottom and saying we're going to have a terrible season etc.
Thats the dave and zatara effect

Bed wetters, that entire lot. We've only seen one game, no need to get out the matches until halftime Thursday.

100 mil mate
We did not "sell him" he told everyone months ago he was going.
Nowt to beat up the club about.

If people are pessimistic and not happy.Well that's up to them. But i haven't felt this excited and optimistic about Everton since summer 1996.We were a club with no prospects and a deluded idiotic manager who was leading us to oblivion. But Moshiri arrived and turned all that on it's head.Big money signings. The site for the new stadium secured. There's a lot more reasons to be positive than negative about Everton right now.

If that turns out to be the case then it's extremely poor form from the manager. Judgement clouded by the name rather than the fact Rooney has been in rapid decline. Throw in losing Barkley as well and I'm not too hyped about the upcoming season.
